Who is the founder of Skip's Junk Hauling?

Skip O’Toole started the hauling business in 1984. He founded the company as a way to pay for college and continued the business after graduating from Mizzou.

Yes, it is a local, family-owned and operated company. Skip’s wife, Cindy, and other family members personally answer calls and accompany him on various hauling jobs.

What is your company’s approach to the environment?

We recycle and reuse anything and everything we can. Re-usable items are donated to charity, and all other materials are taken to the appropriate recycling facilities.

The Founder of Skip’s Hauling – Skip O’Toole was born in St. Louis. He was raised in Creve Couer with his 5 brothers and 1 sister. Skip attended Parkway North High School (We knew you’d ask….). He started his hauling business in 1984 as a way to pay for college. Upon graduating from Mizzou with a degree in Journalism, he stuck with Hauling as he found working for himself to be most enjoyable. Skip married Cindy in 2000, and they now live in West County with their 2 children and various pets. Their children attended elementary school in the Rockwood School District.Home

St. Louis Family Hauling Business

Cindy is happy to help answer hauling questions as she frequently answers the phone for Skip. All calls are answered personally by Cindy or Skip. Their son, Preston often accompanies him on jobs, as do Skip’s brother’s, cousins, nephews. Skip’s Hauling is truly a local, family run business.

Recycle and Reuse

Skip’s Hauling is GREEN! As parents of small children, we are very concerned with the future of our planet. We recycle anything and everything we possibly can. All materials are taken to appropriate recycling facilities and re-usable items are donated to charity.

Word of mouth! My daughter told me about Skip. This is the second job and the largest. Two story house and basement, multiple appliances and a two car garage full of junk. Very nice crew. Skip is reasonably priced and response is quick. They also tore out over two floors of carpet as an add on. We highly recommend Skip and Cindy.

Omg! ??? A HUGE THANK YOU to SKIP’S Hauling! I called and had Skip’s hauling come clean my basement out and his crew is amazingly awesome aaaand Oooh so friendly! I had them haul everything in my basement and I mean everything! They had it done real nice and in a nice and timely fashion for a very very very REASONABLE PRICE! We had a large disassembled refrigerator for bulk disposal. Trash Warriors never showed up despite touching base for 2 successive days. Waste Management said they would pick up no problem. Despite calling every day for 4 days they never showed up. We called Skip and 3 polite men showed up in 2 hours and it is gone. Thank you Skip.

Skip's hauling is fantastic. They accommodated my time limits and came at a time and date that was convenient for me. They did a terrific job of carrying everything from the second floor down to the 1st and then out of the house. They were very professional, courteous, cautious, and their experience showed. Had a wonderful experience with Skip's Junk Hauling. We had a boat sitting in our garage for 20 years and needed it gone. It was old, surrounded by piles of junk, and the boat trailer tires were flat. Skip and Lilly showed up, helped move the junk, pulled the boat out of the garage and hauled it away. They were quick, efficient, and extremely friendly. I had gotten haul away bids from bigger companies but Skip did it at a fraction of the price. I usually don't write reviews but I felt compelled after my experience with Skip and Lilly. Everything was easy and quick. I will definitely be calling them again when its time to clear out the mountains of junk from the garage!

Skips hauling helped us move and get rid of items that we didn’t need. All of the movers were extremely polite and hardworking. Our move was complicated by surprise repairs to my new house. Skips hauling was so flexible with times and workers needed. They are still assisting us to get settled.We are not spring chickens so we need help with moving things around the house. Starting with Cindy the administrative helper to Skip himself showing up to supervise, the experience of moving was so much better thanks to this company. FIVE STARS!!!

We had squirrel damage in our home that destroyed some furniture. It’s an emotional thing to have happen. But Skip’s not only was kind and cheerful, they were there within two hours to take away what we asked plus a little more. All done at a very reasonable price. Highly recommend.

I was looking for a local and ideally, family owned business, when I decided to downsize and remove furniture and items I no longer use from my home. I have family members in other cities who own small businesses and I appreciate the challenges involved when competing with bigger, national companies. Scheduling with Skip's Hauling is quick and easy - I just texted pictures of what I wanted removed and Cindy responded quickly with a very competitive quote and a time that worked with my schedule. I scheduled three separate pick ups and each time the team arrived as scheduled. Skip, Cindy, Ian and Lily were efficient and professional and had things loaded up before I knew it.
